Kristen Lopez is a writer, editor and disability advocate whose work has been published at Variety, the Hollywood Reporter, MTV, and Turner Classic Movies. She was the Film Editor at TheWrap and was previously the TV Editor at IndieWire where her writing on disability in media garnered her nominations at both the Southern California Journalism Awards and National Entertainment Journalism Awards by the LA Press Club. In 2023 her first book, But Have You Read the Book: 52 Literary Gems That Inspired Our Favorite Films was published by Turner Classic Movies and Running Press. She is the host and producer of the film podcast Ticklish Business, focused on classic movies. Kristen is a California native with a Masters degree in English from California State University, Sacramento. She currently resides in Los Angeles.
