Jay Sanders

Jay Sanders is the Executive Director of Artists Space.

I cannot think of an artist who’s meant more to me than Richard Foreman. His artistic projects, from his first play, Angelface, in 1968 to his last, Old-Fashioned Prostitutes, in 2013—after which he retired from public view—fundamentally dismantled and rebuilt the art and experience of theater and performance, viscerally, structurally, and philosophically.
