Charles Switzer

Charles Switzer is a teacher and writer. He has been published in Bright Lights Film Journal and PopMatters, and is interested in cinema, cultural history, and representation.

While the contemporary push for more hopeful portrayals is a necessary evolution, to dilute the unique transgressions of nineties LGBTQ+ cinema in response would be the equivalent of taking an eraser to the messy, sometimes ugly, rough draft that sketched that path forward.
