Sommer Browning

Sommer Browning is a poet. Browning’s latest poetry collection is Good Actors (Birds, LLC, 2023). She writes about art, comics, and other things for Artforum, the Washington Post, the Comics Journal, and Southwest Contemporary. She is a librarian in Richmond, Virginia.

Return of the Triumphal Mother is a mixed-media installation of new work by artists Dani and Sheilah ReStack. The installation consists of a looping video, a series of photogram prints, a drawing, and an altered photograph—all of which appear outside the theater space.

Poet, artist, and publisher discuss the making of the collaborative artist book American Weather. Originally published as an essay in 2016, the artist book is about gun violence in the USA, as well as a deep and thoughtful collaboration between a city, a neighborhood, friends, and community members.
