Michael Taylor
Michael R. Taylor, Chief Curator and Deputy Director for Art and Education, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, is author of Marcel Duchamp: Étant donnés, a catalogue that accompanied a show of that title at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 2009.
Coffee Mill was of talismanic importance for Duchamp as it initiated his career-long interest in machine imagery and movement, which is seen in later works such as Nude Descending a Staircase, No. 2;
