Of all my Confederate coworkers, they checked the most flagrantly unexpected demographic boxes, but they weren’t unique. Out of the seven soldiers at the fort, there was one definite conservative, loosely defined, and one possible conservative who owned a gun but also seemed willing to entertain just about any idea under the sun. The rest were liberals at the very least, and the term leftist was applied to more than just oceanography.
