When Abe got home from work, there was a man selling puppies out of a van parked in front of his house. A litter of five, all black, thirty dollars apiece. Abe leaned into the van to check them out, and one squirmed out of the pile and pushed her snout up the sleeve of his jacket and sighed, so he paid the guy and went inside with his new dog.
