Viveca Vázquez

Viveca Vázquez is an experimental dance and movement artist. Dancer, choreographer, teacher, producer, Vázquez has presented her work in various spaces in Puerto Rico, the United States, Argentina, Venezuela, Colombia, Portugal, among others. In 2013, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico (MAC) organized a retrospective exhibition of her work titled Coreografía del Error, CONDUCTA (Choreography of Error, CONDUCT). Currently, she teaches at the University of Puerto Rico, works on the Incubator project at Northwestern University/Mellon Foundation, and, with Merian Soto, is co-directing and co-producing “FENOMENAL,” a documentary on the dance marathon, performance and visual arts project ROMPEFORMA 1989–1996.
