Tatiane Santa Rosa

TATIANE SANTA ROSA is a Ph.D. Candidate in Visual Studies at the University of California Santa Cruz. She has an MFA in Art Criticism & Writing from the School of Visual Arts and an MA in Art History, Contemporary Art, Sotheby’s Institute of Art. She is a 2018 – 19 Critical Studies fellow at the Whitney Museum’s Independent Study Program and Creative Diretor at AnnexB – Artist Residency (NY). From 2017 – 18, she was a Visiting Faculty at the San Francisco Art Institute.

Venceremos: Resisting the Rise of the Far-right in Brazil

In October 2018 fifty-five percent of Brazil’s voters chose to elect a far-right president. It is unsurprising that a country shaped by colonial thinking, marked by a horrific history of slavery, and mostly controlled by white oligarchies would adhere once again to such forces.
