Dr. Bárbara Saavedra is a well-recognized and respected leader in biodiversity conservation in Chile. Since April 2005, she is the Director of Wildlife Conservation Society in Chile. She is a biologist who earned her PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the Unversidad de Chile, with additional training Universities in USA.

I have been working in Tierra del Fuego for five years as part of the research collective Ensayos, which brings an international group of artists and social scientists together with ecologists and locals to think through environmental and sustainability questions in the region.
