Andrea Segre

Andrea Segre is an Italian writer and filmmaker. Born in Dolo, in the Veneto region, he lives and works in Rome. Among his films are Mare Chiuso (Closed Sea) (2013) on immigration through the Mediterranean; Il pianeta in mare (The Planet at Sea) (2019) on the workers at the industrial site of Porto Marghera, Venice; and Molecole (Molecules) (2020) shot in Venice during the pandemic lockdown and presented at the Venice Biennale’s 2020 International Film Festival.

Suspended Time

Time is finite, or is indissolubly infinite. These are prisons of existences that, in fact, know very well that they are finite and that they don’t have time. In order to try to find time, we give ourselves intermediate deadlines, we fill ourselves with time limits attempting to pretend that we don't have an inevitable one.
