THREE POEMS

THREE POEMS

I

snow crystallized on the bedroom window
winds howling, whistling – frightening
old building shakes
winter pandemonium
you're up on the 24th floor!

stay safe, precious love of my life
it will pass, we all pass
 (easily)
(equilibrium)
  swiftly
from the savage night to the placid day.

II

Can you come soon?
(It will be soon)
to a place that

resembles nothing
as much as a
monastery
or prison.
neglectful I am
abandoned

without your warm cowl
I shiver with cold each night

III

Gus asks me questions
assertive to hide his own duplicity
I don't trust him
as far as I can spit.
