AFTER WANG WEI

Deep blue sky, ice mountains jutting upwards
Morning as you prepare for further travel
I recommend you have another drink
     text everyone you’re okay
No cell service above Tengboche

NOT YET DEAD PRESIDENT
(HOMAGE TO ED DORN)

So, what denomination will
Be graced with his face?
Surely the three dollar bill

IN MEMORY OF TOM CLARK

Critical to destroy knowledge
Which fades instantly
So the destruction of the library
Whether Alexandria or Congress
Might give hope
The knowledge that has corrupted
Might become mere distilled water
No knowledge like ash
Ash like air
And consistent like memory
It glows away
A word at a time
The green lawn beckoning
Momentary like something
Something like momentary
