High as a Georgia Pine

I was high as

a Georgia pine

Dock Ellis said

when he no hit

the Padres on

acid or tried to

bean every batter

on the Reds, May

Day 1974 because

they had called

him and his friends

dumb and he

resented that

the tallest of

Georgia pines is pinus
rigida or the pond

pine, which loves

shallow and rocky

soil, which rapidly

grows to a diameter

of four to six

feet and although

there are no showy

flowers it can reach

a height of one hundred

and eighty to two

hundred feet
