DEAR MARCIA VETROCQ
REGARDING: REPLAY THE ATTITUDES EXHIBITION
I WAS MOST IMPRESSED BY THE CARE & ATTENTION GIVEN TO THE WORKS & THE ATTEMPT TO RE-CREATE A PHYSICAL MISE-EN-SCENE WITHIN THE AMBIANCE OF THE ORIGINAL INSTALLATION
ATTEMPTING TO UNDERSTAND HOW THIS EXHIBITION BECAME SUCH A BENCHMARK FOR THE 20TH CENTURY WHEN IN FACT THE LASTING RESULTS OF THE SHOW ARE MORE ABOUT THE DYNAMICS OF THE MELDING OF ARTISTS THAT FOUND THEMSELVES IN THE MIDST OF OTHER ARTISTS WITH A MINDSET THAT ALLOWED FOR COEXISTENCE LEADING TO WHAT WE TODAY KNOW AS THE INTERNATIONAL ART WORLD
THE WORKS THEMSELVES HAD ALREADY ENTERED THE CULTURE THE AMSTERDAM EXHIBITION OP LOSSE SCHROEVEN HAD PRECEDED BERN GALLERISTS WERE SHOWING MANY OF THE ARTISTS
BERN AT THAT MOMENT GAVE A MAPPING TO A COSMOS
BEST REGARDS
I REMAIN

By Tom McGlynnDEC 20-JAN 21 | ArtSeen
There are a number of portraits presented at Luhring Augustine in this tightly-curated survey of Auerbachs paintings and drawings, which also includes some of his relatively larger landscapes. Its a welcome opportunity to review up-close a number of mature works by an artist much more well known (as practically a national treasure, really) in his adoptive homeland in the UK.

Stephen Antonakos: Late Light Gold Works 2010–2013
By Mary Ann CawsDEC 19-JAN 20 | ArtSeen
This past Friday the 13th of December, in the dismal rain, was a deliciously gilded day for anyone who went to Chelsea to contemplate the undismal sheen of these late light gold works. Created late in the life of Stephen Antonakos, and luminous, all these radiant outpourings and inpourings of a sun inside a mind shine forth.
