"The Spiritual Life of Replicants" is part six of a 250-page, seven part poem entitled The Structure of Escape. The question underlying "The Spiritual" is whether it is possible to imagine, to trace a language of death. Since consciousness (the very essence of living) is intricately bound to language, is it possible to decouple them, have them exist as independent, distinct entities?
