About the Author

Evie Shockley is the author of two poetry collections: The Gorgon Goddess (2001) and a half-red sea (forthcoming 2006), both with Carolina Wren Press. She also has published creative and critical writing in numerous journals and anthologies, including Beloit Poetry Journal, Hambone, HOW2, and Rainbow Darkness. Shockley teaches African American literature and creative writing at Rutgers University.
